Duke & Sherman for Paws

Recently two of Philadelphia's finest bulldogs, Duke & Sherman, teamed up to throw a party for a cause close to their hearts. A very dapper crowd met for music, food, drink and fun to support and celebrate PAWS Animal Rescue.

The event received great support and raised money for a great PAWS. PAWS brought a few furry guests to be adopted and to spread awareness.

The event also featured an excellent spread from Irish Pub, To the T Events, Matt & Maries and ChocAmo. There was also cold beer from Victory, Bluecoat Gin & Tonics, and a Penn 1684 Vodka Christmas Punch.

Duke & Sherman enjoyed the affair and were great partners for a great cause. You can check out all the pics on our Facebook.

Sherman T-shirts will be available on the website soon!

Victory x D&W presents Beer & Cheese Tasting

A couple weeks ago we hosted a beer & cheese tasting at our flagship store with our friends Victory Brewing Company and Crow & the Pitcher (our Rittenhouse neighbors). Victory Brewing founder, Bill Covaleski presented a tasting and hosted a discussion.

For the event we took our popular Victory collaboration t-shirt and created a limited edition sweat shirt (with a very limited supply still available in store).

Thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a wonderful evening. And a very big thanks to Bill Covaleski, Victory Brewing Company and Crow & the Pitcher for being such a big help. Be sure to check our Facebook for more upcoming events.

American Express Feature

Those of you who have been following the brand for the last 4 years have had a front row seat to the small but significant successes we've had building a business out of nothing. As with any startup, behind the scenes there have been many tough times but when things look like there is no way out, good things will always happen to those who push forward.

Last month we were contacted out of nowhere for an article with American Express which I thought was simply a local business highlight but today D&W is featured very prominently on the American Express Open Forum, a huge & much needed boost after 5 intense months of working day & night to make our new retail venture a success.

Article on Am Ex here: https://www.americanexpress.com/us/small-business/openforum/long-form-article/duke-winston-conquering-dog-eat-dog-world-retail/

We couldn't be more excited about this, by far our largest bit of recognition. As always we acknowledge the folks who have stayed behind the brand as we've gone through the ups & downs of growth and looking forward to where the brand can go in the future.

To further share the joy, we are offering all customers online 25% off any & all merchandise today only using discount code DUKEAMEX. Thank you all.

D&W for Philadelphia City Rowing

Two weeks ago, we had the pleasure of setting up shop at the prestigious Undine Boathouse for the launch of Jack Caulson's new book, Rowing Blazers. Jack, U.S. team coxswain and current University of Oxford doctoral student, invited us to participate after stopping by our shop and becoming fan. (The books official launch was a few weeks before at the 5th Ave Ralph Lauren Store)

We also stepped things up by designing a tee in order to raise funds for Philadelphia City Rowing, a local nonprofit whose mission is to empower local public school students by teaching discipline, perseverance and teamwork through the sport of rowing. We were able to raise over $1000 for  PCR from sales of the tee that night alone.

While we are fairly new to the rowing world (having been a multiple year exhibitor at the Dad Vail Regatta a few years back), we are connected through friends & family who are active rowers locally & back in England so linking up with Jack and jumping at the chance to design & raise awareness for Phila City Rowing was a no brainier. Check out pics from the very awesome event below:
