Our Trip To: Newport, Rhode Island

The Duke & I took a trip up to Newport, Rhode Island a few weeks back with the local Brandywine Polo Club team. The plan was to attend various events to get the Duke & Winston name out–as well as taking a much needed mini vacation. We were lucky to have the opportunity to showcase during the Newport vs. Brandywine polo matches and during the America's Cup–one of the most recognized boat races in the country– qualifying races. These events attracted over 10,000 spectators from all over the US.

We met all sorts of folks who were already familiar with the D&W line (some actually only recognized Duke, but not me) & some who were totally new to our brand! As the trip was coming to an end, we were picked up by one of the premier retailers in Newport and all of New England: Island Outfitters. Duke & I walked in with some Newport tees & tanks in hand and they bought them up within the first 5 minutes of us being there–which was awesome.

All in all, it was a very successful trip and it got me thinking about taking more road trips to towns were we think the line would be best carried. Since we're already booked up with trunk shows for the remainder of the summer, we're planning on hitting the road next Spring for 2-3 weeks at a time. Ideally we'll be going from city to city up, all up and down the East Coast. If you want us to drop by your city, let us know.
