A few people have mentioned being confused about the kick-starter pledges. Your pledges only count if I reach the total amount I am trying to raise. If I don't reach my FULL fund-raising goal then you don't pay anything and your pledges are returned.
This makes sure that you are helping to fund an idea that will actually get completed as opposed to simply giving money away to something that might not raise enough to get off the ground.
